Local business surprises veteran with gift on Veteran's Day

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo business surprised a local veteran with a generous gift on Monday.

Veteran Adam Schulte had been visiting Panhandle Archery multiple times over the past month, searching a for a new hunting bow. The owner of Panhandle Archery called veteran Adam Schulte on Veteran's Day and told him he had left his water bottle in the store during his last visit.

"This was strange because no bow shops are open on Veteran's Day," said Schulte. "He was very insistent that I come in to get the water bottle that I had left."

Schulte showed up to the store, and the owner asked him if he had finally decided which bow he wanted. "Kyle, the owner, told me that he had always loved the men and women of our military and that if it wasn't for men and women like myself that dedicated their lives to protecting our constitutional rights and our country he would not be able to own and operate his dream of an archery shop," said Schulte.

The owner then told Schulte that any bow he decided he wanted was on the house. Schulte walked away with a $1,500 Hoyt Carbon Spyder.

"I still can't get over the fact that this man donated so much to a local veteran just to say thank you," said Schulte.
