Hearing delayed for teens in Chris Lane killing

Posted: Updated:

DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) _ A judge has delayed this week's preliminary hearing for three Oklahoma teenagers charged in the shooting death of an Australian baseball player.

The three teens, 16-year-old Chancey Luna, 16-year-old James Edwards Jr. and 17-year-old Michael Jones, were due in court Wednesday in Duncan, but that has now been postponed until February 4.

All three are charged as adults with first-degree murder.

Special Judge Jerry Herberger on Monday granted the delay so defense attorneys have more time to review information turned over by prosecutors this month. Luna's attorneys have also asked the judge to bar the public and media from attending the preliminary hearing, but the judge has not yet ruled on the request.
