UPDATE: Three killed in overnight wreck involving 6 vehicles

UPDATE FROM DPS:

The Department of Public Safety has released the names of those killed and injured in a multiple-vehicle pileup Friday night. The three deceased include one person from each of the two passenger cars, 56-year-old Hector Perales of El Paso and 42-year-old Tracy Jones of Sacramento, CA, and one truck driver 45-year-old Bhupinder Deol of Gaithersburg, MD.

Eleven other people were injured in the wreck. Three of them were taken to the hospital in critical condition including 75-year-old Guillermo Vasquez, 72-year-old Alma Vasquez, and 47-year-old Fred Sannicolas. The eight others are all listed in stable condition and include 36-year-old William Vasquez, 46-year-old Alma Perales, 15-year-old Noah Perales, 19-year-old Guy Jones, 27-year-old Clayton Ireton, 13-year-old Sadee Jones, Ferrer Santiago, and 39-year-old Ondre Ryenolds.

Amarillo, TX - Icy road conditions are being blamed for an overnight wreck that killed three people and left several more in the hospital.

The pileup happened on I-40 near Vega just before midnight Friday night.

DPS officials report a total of four semi trucks and two passenger cars were involved in the crash.

It began when two of the semis collided with each other, blocking the road causing the rest to crash into them.

The three who were killed in the accident include one person from each passenger vehicle and one semi-truck driver who was hit by a passenger car after exiting his truck.
