Sentencing set for woman who enabled deadly child abuse

Posted: Updated:

Lawton- A woman convicted of enabling child abuse that led to her son's death is set to be sentenced Monday.

Denise Ray's preliminary hearing for her murder case is also set to begin. In September, Comanche County jurors found Ray guilty of allowing her husband Lancey to beat her ten-year-old son Malik to death. Ray says her husband controlled her life and convinced her not to report the beatings.

Prosecutors later filed a separate murder charge against her for Malik's death.
