Lawton Woman Tries to Run Over OKC Cop

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY Okla_ A Lawton woman is in jail in OKC for allegedly trying to run over a police officer.

Kreidaesha Topaz Clay, 26, was arrested on Sunday, following a disturbance call. According to a police report, a man called to report Clay was harassing him and would not leave. Police had reportedly already been to the scene and asked Clay to leave earlier and were called back.

When they got there the second time, Clay was reportedly leaving the apartment complex in a car. The police report stated as Clay waited on the complex's security gate to open, one officer stopped behind her vehicle and turned on his emergency lights, while another officer pulled in front of the gate. That officer reportedly got out of his car and tried to wave Clay down with a flashlight. When the gate opened, she sped off.

Police say the officer had to quickly dodge the car, but it hit his arm as it passed. Officers arrested Clay and searched her car. They said they found a pill bottle containing .20 grams of what they believed to be marijuana and an open bottle of vodka in her purse.

Clay was booked on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, possession of controlled dangerous substance, marijuana and transporting an open container of alcohol.
