Duncan Police Investigate Robberies Where Victims are Beaten

Duncan,Okla.__

Duncan police are investigating two separate robberies after a man and a woman were beaten and then robbed while walking down separate streets.

Police said both happened Sunday. One of the attacks happened at D Street and Ash,  the second was reported by a woman was at 3rd Street and Willow. Police said the woman suffered a shattered eye socket during the attack.

During both robberies the victims were sucker punched after several individuals called for their attention.

    A Sallisaw police officer shot a suspect Sunday night. Sallisaw police stopped a silver Ford Focus in the parking lot of the Northeastern Health Systems-Sequoyah.  The driver Jonathan Duane Atchley began assaulting two officers. Officers were forced to shoot Atchley. Atchley was treated at Northeastern Health Systems hospital but he died from the gunshot wound. The Sallisaw Police Department requested OSBI agents investigate the officer-involved shooting.
