Suspected Murderer to Return to Altus

Posted: Updated:

ALTUS Okla_ The suspect in a 12-year-old murder in Altus is on his way back to Oklahoma to face his charges.

The Wise County Sheriff's Department said Garland Allen had left the jail and was being extradited to Oklahoma. He is wanted for the murder of his ex-wife Tracy in Altus in 2001. Police arrested him Tuesday night in Decatur, Texas. Now, Altus police will work to bring him back to face the charges.

Tracy's body has never been found, but authorities suspect he buried her after beating her to death. It was just last week that Altus police put out a warrant for him after experts from the TV show "Cold Justice" worked with local detectives in gathering enough evidence to charge him.

We'll keep you updated.
