Ft. Sill Welcomes Home Forty Soldiers For The Holidays

Posted: Updated:

FT. SILL, Okla._Friday, forty soldiers returned home to Ft. Sill just in time for Christmas.

Family and friends welcomed home the 3rd battalion, 2nd Air Defense Artillery. Army Specialist Justin Bosheers has spent the past eleven and a half months in Turkey protecting the country's border from possible Syrian air strikes.

He said his battalion wasn't supposed to return home until after the New Year so getting to spend the holidays with his wife and son was a welcomed surprise.

"They say you never realize what you have until it's gone and that's absolutely true this is my entire world right here," said Justin Bosheers.

He said this Christmas will be unlike any other. He said his deployment taught him to appreciate even the small things he would normally take for granted.

"Until you're deployed or until you spend anytime over seas in a country that doesn't have a lot of the things we have here it was a shock, going without showers, without electricity," said Bosheers.

Justin's wife Leanne said she and her son are over the moon with Justin's early return.
