Okla. Officials To Discuss CNG At Town Halls

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Secretary of Energy & Environment Michael Teague and representatives from the governor's office will discuss ways to add compressed natural gas fueling stations in Oklahoma at two town hall meetings scheduled this week.

The state officials are to join with state and local Chamber of Commerce officials for meeting scheduled for Monday in Blackwell and Tuesday in Krebs.

Gov. Mary Fallin has encouraged the use of CNG-powered vehicles and Oklahoma currently has about 550 CNG vehicles in its fleet. However, more CNG refueling stations are needed and the town hall meetings are intended to build support to show private retailers that there is demand for CNG in various communities in Oklahoma.
