Ft. Sill Continues Tax Preparation Training

Posted: Updated:

FT. SILL, Okla._With the holidays coming up, that means tax season is right around the corner.

This week soldiers and volunteers at the fort sill income tax assistance center are training to help you with your taxes this season. They train for two weeks before they begin assisting thousands of tax payers on Ft. Sill. The service is free to all active duty soldiers, retirees and authorized family members.

One volunteer says the training is helping him learn a valuable life skill.

"When it comes to the full length tax forms, I've always wanted to learn more about them. It helps me and my family. And it helps me help other soldiers," said tax preparer PFC Joshua Ritchie.

The program they are being trained on is much more in depth than Turbo Tax so the savings you could have missed will end up in your pocket. The Ft. Sill Income Tax Assistance Center is located in building 4700 and will be available for walk-in appointments on January 20th.

Taxpayers should bring all of their information to help prepare their tax return.
