House Fire Ruled Arson

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla. - A fire that destroyed a house in central Lawton Friday morning is now being ruled an arson.

The Lawton Fire Marshal determined Friday that an electrical panel inside the home had been tampered with before the fire, even though there were no utilities turned on to the house at the time of the fire.

The fire broke out around 2:30 Friday morning at NW 3rd Street and Dearborn Avenue.

Callers to 911 reported seeing smoke and flames coming through the roof of the house.

Once firefighters arrived, they determined no one was inside.

There were reports of a couple of people either living in the house or going in and out of it.

No arrests have been made.
