OK Supreme Court Turns Down Income Tax Bill

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY Okla_ The Oklahoma Supreme Court has shot down a bill to cut the state's personal income tax.

The bill would also have provided $120M for repairs to the capitol. The high court said in a unanimous vote Tuesday the bill is unconstitutional. The justices said the bill violated the state constitution's ban on logrolling, or including multiple subjects in a single bill.

Cutting the state's top personal income tax rate and funding repairs to the building both were top priorities of Governor Mary Fallin.
