LAWTON, Okla._ The winning numbers have been drawn for tonight's $636 million Mega Millions jackpot, but if there's no winner, Friday's jackpot could soar to $950 million.
Even though people admitted today there was no way they'd win, they still bought tickets during the last-minute frenzy.
"The secret is you have to buy just one ticket, one row of numbers and that's it," said Troy Ayers, who bought a single $1 ticket.
The $636 million prize is the second largest in lottery history. It has a cash option of $341 million.
"If you take the annuity you'll know how much money you have to spend a month," said Aquarion Yarbrough, sales manager at Jim Glover Chevrolet.
It's estimated more than 11 million tickets were sold every hour Tuesday, but Yarbrough says the odds of winning did not stop him from trying.
One Lawton man even dished out $100 on tickets, a low price to pay, he says, for the possible return on the investment.
"Family, friends, help pay bills, buy houses, pay off mortgages, things of that nature for the people that I love," is what Cruz Enriquez says he would take care of if he hit the jackpot.
The winning numbers are 8, 14, 17, 20, 39; Mega Ball: 7
