Altus Man Arrested for Drugs, Gun and Counterfeit Money

ALTUS Okla_ A routine traffic stop for Altus police turns into finding a cache of drugs, a gun and counterfeit cash.

Around 1PM Tuesday afternoon, Altus police were watching traffic in a construction zone at the intersection of Falcon Road and Park Lane, when they pulled over a man for speeding. Police say Casey Coyle jumped out of his vehicle and acted nervous.

"They approached him and went ahead and put him up against the car to search him for their safety," Altus Police Deputy Chief Mike Bell said. "While they were doing it, the driver's door was open, and they observed a large number of bills in the door or drivers area. They also observed a gun at that point."

Police arrested Coyle. When they searched his car, they found a jar full of what appeared to be marijuana. Coyle was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of distributing and selling marijuana, transporting a loaded fire arm and false pretenses.
