Republicans must shift their focus to enacting President Donald Trump's sweeping tax plan, a far heavier lift than the $4 trillion budget plan they've muscled through the Senate to lay the groundwork for the first tax overhaul in three decades.
Today is the last day to apply for voter registration for the special elections in November. Anyone not registered to vote -- or needing to change registration information -- can do so by mailing a voter registration application form postmarked no later than midnight tonight. Application forms can be found at the County Election Board Office in the courthouse, as well as any post office, public library or motor vehicle licensing agency.
On October 23rd, the Southeast 45th Reconstruction Project from Lee Blvd to Gore Blvd will begin. The construction will transform the street into a 5-lane road with bicycle paths and sidewalks on each side. The project is expected to take 270 days to complete and will cost $6.8-million. ODOT has covered 80 percent of that cost, while the City of Lawton has covered 20 percent. There are no “identified detours” in project plans at this time.
