Lawton Man Arrested for Grocery Store Assault

LAWTON Okla_ A bizarre attack at a Lawton grocery store Thursday night landed one man in jail.

Police arrested Darvin Patrick after they say he attacked the customer service clerk at the Country Mart grocery store on Cache Road. Police say the victim was behind a desk when Patrick leaped over it and started punching him in the head.

Police believe he was intoxicated and say he came into the store searching for the victim. He was allegedly upset he had testified against him in a past criminal case where he was convicted. Two employees helped their co-worker and held Patrick until police arrived.

He was arrested for assault and battery  and public intoxication charges.
