Local man arrested after being shot in the chest

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

Amarillo, TX - A local man with a gunshot wound is arrested, accused of breaking into a car in North Amarillo.

Terry Lee Richardson was shot Wednesday, after a homeowner in the 1400 block of Knight says he saw him breaking into his car.

Police say Richardson fled the scene, but was later arrested when a homeowner, a few blocks away on Echo Street, called police saying a man had been shot and was looking for help.

Richardson was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He was booked into the Potter County Jail on a charge of burglary of a motor vehicle.
