AMARILLO, TX - The Department of Public Safety is still investigating a crash that killed a man on Interstate 27 earlier this weekend.

DPS says 21-year-old Ramiro Rutiago Junior of Plainview was killed Friday after being hit by a delivery freight-liner.

It happened about six miles north of Tulia. Officials say Rutiago was driving half way on the shoulder on northbound I-27 with no lights on when a FedEx or UPS freight-liner hit him.

The driver of the freight-liner was transported to the hospital and later released.

DPS is still investigating the crash.
