Man arrested for domestic abuse following brief standoff

Lawton- A man is in police custody Friday morning following a brief standoff.

Officers were called to a home near 24th place and Southwest J Avenue after a neighbor saw a woman crawling out of the home's window being chased by a man. When police arrived, the woman had escaped to the neighbor's house and the man refused to come out of his home. After some convincing the man gave himself up and was arrested for domestic abuse.

The woman told police he hit her so hard she couldn't hear out of her ear. She was taken to a hospital. The couple's three children, who were inside at the time, are now in their mother's custody.
