5 Bodies Discovered in Bartlesville House Fire

Posted: Updated:

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Five people were found dead following a house fire in northern Oklahoma, and authorities continue to search for answers about what caused the fire.

Bartlesville Police said the blaze broke out just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning inside a home in the town of Bartlesville, which located is about 45 miles north of Tulsa.

A neighbor said the blaze grew substantially in the time it took him to call 911.

"It was burning kind of low, just barely out of the windows. And then, by the time I got back out there, it was burning pretty good. I couldn't see that water tower up there," said Robert Adams.

Once firefighters extinguished the blaze, they discovered five people dead inside the home. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office were called in to help with the investigation.

Saturday afternoon police and investigators were going door-to-door in the neighborhood seeking information.

No details have been released about the victims or the cause of the fire.
