Vandals break-in Greiner School

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Ok_Volunteers at the Robert E. Greiner School are heartbroken and stunned after vandals broke into the school's thrift store.

When staff and volunteers got to work this week, they found shattered glass, broken windows and a destroyed garage door.

Adults who are mentally and physically disabled depend on the school and the school depends on the thrift store to help keep it afloat.

One mother who is also president of the parent's advisory board is hurt by it all. "I was very upset, very angry because of the fact the volunteers here and the parents of the students here. We have done everything in our power to get people to help us," said Cindy Foggel.

Local businesses have pledged to help install a new door but the school still has to pay about $500 for it because it is not covered by insurance.

If you would like to help out, the address is 10 S.E. B., ave, Lawton, Ok.
