Foster parents needed

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Ok_Oklahoma is in desperate need of qualified foster parents for about 10,000 children who do not have homes, including 400 children in Comanche County.

Lawton's children's shelter is currently full and current foster parents have their homes filled to capacity. TFI Family Connections works with the Department of Human Services to recruit, train and place children with foster families.

"We want every child to be placed in a home environment with a family to receive that loving and support that every child deserves. So that's why were working really hard to recruit more families in our area so we can place these children in homes," said social worker Ashley Barker.

TFI also offers foster parent retreats, a mentor program and 24-hour on-call support.  If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, you can visit tfifamilyconnections.org or call 866-543-9810.
