US Courts warn against email scam

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - An email claiming to be from the US Courts could infect your computer with a virus.

The message tells the recipient to appear at a hearing at specific time according to the Security Operations Center of the US Courts.

The email then instructs the person to open an attachment.

If the attachment is opened it will cause a malicious program to activate and infect the recipient's computer.

Unless you are currently involved in a Federal Court case and have agreed to have court documents emailed to you, the US Courts says you should not be receiving messages from them.
