DUNCAN, Okla._ The city of Duncan is continuing their quest to bring in new business.
Wednesday, a ground breaking ceremony marked the site of a new "shell" building.
Only the shell of the 22,000 square foot building will be constructed for now. The absence of an interior will allow future businesses to customize their space to their liking, while also allowing builders to add on to the structure in the future.
Duncan Area Development Foundation President, Lyle Roggow said the new development is representative of the city's goals to move forward.
"We're always wanting job growth and we also want to grow wealth and tax base. Anytime that you have an opportunity to attract high-paying jobs, it does nothing but grows opportunity for the rest of the economy," said Roggow
Project completion is expected by March 20. Economic officials say they hope to build more shell buildings, in the future, pending the project's completion.
