Amarillo, Texas - Although the Tascosa boy's basketball team is undefeated, the Rebels are going to have a challenge Friday night against Abilene Cooper.
Guard Darius Polley is still out with a hip injury. We still don't know the full extent of his injury right now, but what we do know is he won't be out on the court tonight with the Rebels. But the good news for Tascosa is Abilene Cooper has has their ups and downs this year.
There is still plenty of talent on the Rebels bench get the job done against the Cougars. The Lady Rebels will also be up for a challenge tonight as they are coming off a fresh overtime loss to Abilene High earlier this week. A game they could have, and maybe should have won. But, things are still looking good in district for the Lady Rebels as long as they bounce back.
We caught up with Tascosa Head Coach Betsy Baughman to find out what went wrong, and how they can turn things back around in their next match up.
"I feel like our girls did a really good job, and they tried hard. But we just got into foul trouble there at the end, and we also made a couple of critical errors down the stretch. I think our girls, we challenge them after the game, we talked about our mistakes, and talked about this is a district race, and this is what we do to move on. And I think they're ready," Baughman said.
