Okla. will not review protocol after 2 executions

TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma officials say they have no plans to review the state's execution protocol after two inmates given lethal injections this month made complaints as the drugs began to flow through their bodies.

Michael Lee Wilson, who was executed Jan. 9, said he felt his ``whole body burning'' within 20 seconds of receiving the injection. Kenneth Eugene Hogan, who was executed Thursday, complained of a metallic taste in his mouth after his injection.

The Wilson execution prompted attorneys in two states to reach out to one of the execution witnesses seeking more information about the ``burning'' remark.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says there are no plans to review the state's methods and added that neither Wilson nor Hogan appeared to be in any distress during their executions.

Given last season's public relations nightmare, it should come as no surprise the NFL wants to have a national anthem policy.
