Fallin sued over school safety public records

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The mothers of two Moore schoolchildren who were killed in last year's tornado have filed a lawsuit accusing Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin of violating the state's open records law.

The lawsuit was filed Monday on behalf of Mikki Davis and Danni Legg. The suit accuses Fallin's office of denying access to public records regarding school safety during severe weather or violent attacks.

The suit says an open records request was filed Nov. 7 on behalf of Take Shelter Oklahoma but no documents had been produced as of Jan. 31.

A spokesman for Fallin tells The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1n8E26I ) that records requests are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. Spokesman Alex Weintz says the governor's office is still processing the request and that Fallin supports putting more storm shelters in school.
