The bread you eat at your favorite restaurants may soon be changing. Subway is changing their bread.
The sandwich giant says they are in the process of removing a chemical from it's bread as part of an effort to improve it's recipes. The announcement from the company was made after a petition from the website FoodBabe.com asking the chain to stop using the ingredient azodicarbonamide.
This chemical is also used to make yoga mats and shoe rubber.
A representative for Subway says the company was already in the process of the change before the petition began this week.
FoodBabe has targeted other food companies as well, including Chick-Fil-A and Kraft for the chemicals also in their products.
