APD investigates "deadly conduct" incident

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

Amarillo Police continue to investigate what they are calling a deadly conduct incident in North Amarillo.

On Friday night, police say 30 to 50 rounds were fired near the 3500 block of Oak Drive, striking one home.

Shots were also fired between the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Jason Avenue.

When police and the Department of Public Safety arrived, they say two men were detained outside of a mobile home on Jason avenue.

They also detained 3 other people inside the home, some of whom were juveniles.

Charges have yet to be filed, and police continue to investigate this incident. No injures have been reported.

    Several students graduated from Junior Citizens Police Academy today. Each year they host two of these academies to teach local kids exactly what officers do. The academy is designed to help the department build a better relationship with the community.

    A luncheon was held today for those who go above and beyond to donate to the United Way of Southwest Oklahoma. The 2017 Pacesetters Luncheon recognizes local businesses and organization for their commitment to bettering the community by getting a jump start on donations for United Way's campaign. A total of 19 businesses has already pledged donations this year which is an increase from year's past.
