Election results from southwest Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:

Southwest Oklahoma_Voters all across the area went to the polls Tuesday to decide school board races, bond issues, and in Tillman County a proposal to allow liquor by the drink.

In Lawton, Lori Bridges defeated Bob Brown in the election for seat number four on the school board.  The final vote was 345 to 259, she'll take the place of Dr. George Schutz who decided not to run for re-election.

In Tillman County, a proposal to allow liquor by the drink was defeated by just four votes, 423 to 419. Voters in the Fletcher School District approved two bond issues, one for $290,000 primarily to build a new agricultural barn but also build covered walkways on the campus, put new flooring in the middle school, and buy security cameras; the final vote was 123 to 31. The other proposition in Fletcher was for $170,000 to buy new buses and it also passed by a huge margin, 126 to 29.
