Go Red for Women Luncheon raises awareness for women's heart disease

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Luncheon helped to increase awareness for women's heart disease today.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States.

Around 450 people attended the event in order to raise awareness  and money for the American Heart Association.

Heart screenings were provided to women in addition to a cooking demonstration sponsored by the Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

There was also a silent auction where Newschannel 10's donated item raised $950 for the American Heart Association.
