Randy Teets enters blind plea in beating death of Robert Day

LAWTON, Okla._Randy Teets has pled guilty to beating Robert Day to death Wednesday at the Comanche County Courthouse.

Robert Day was found in critical condition after getting into a physical altercation with Teets February 9th, 2013. Day was taken to Southwestern Medical and later transferred to a Department of Corrections hospital where he died two months later. After the attack, Teets was moved from GEO in Lawton to the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, OK.

Teets was originally sentenced to an eight year term for manufacturing drugs before his attorney entered a blind plea, leaving his fate up to the judge. He has been sentenced to an additional 10 years for second degree manslaughter.
