Tire slashings stump victims

LAWTON, Okla._ A string of tire slashings in central Lawton have left several residents and police stumped.

The vandalisms happened along Columbia Avenue in Lawton's Old Town North addition. Residents in three different homes reported they found their car tires slashed early Friday morning.

Resident, Joyce Applegate said it was a senseless crime.

"I don't believe there's any logical reason whatsoever. I didn't do anything to  aggravate anyone. I think they did it for fun more than trying to really hurt somebody," said Applegate.

Neighbors said there have been similar incidents on their block in the past.

Police have not identified any suspects.
