Sterling teacher charged with contributing to delinquency

Posted: Updated:

STERLING, Okla._A Sterling English teacher has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors after complaints were filed that she was allegedly engaging in illegal activity with a minor.

Crystal Michelle Johnson, 28, is accused of knowingly and willfully causing, aiding, abetting and encouraging the victim, 15, to become a delinquent between June and November of 2013. The acts in questions are believed to have happened at least twice in a remote area of Comanche County in Johnson's car. Over 5,000 texts and phone calls were exchanged between the two, some of which implied illegal activity.

Johnson's preliminary hearing is set for April 22, 2014. Her bond has been set at $5,000.
