Child Taken to OU Medical Center after Dog Attack

7News has gotten word that a 10-year-old child has been attacked by a dog and has severe injuries.

Police were called to a home on Sunflower Lane in Lawton around 4:45 this afternoon. Animal control officers were also called to the scene to pick up a white American Bulldog. 

At this time, we don't know the extent of the child's injuries, but we do know that he was quickly transferred from Comanche County Memorial Hospital to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City around 6:45 this evening. Of course, we'll continue to gather information and we'll bring you the latest details as we receive them. 

UPDATE: The dog that attacked a child this afternoon has been identified as an American Bulldog.
