LAWTON, Okla._ A man here was arrested earlier this week after taking police on a high-speed chase through a quiet neighborhood.
Shane Williams, 22, allegedly hit a car on SW Lee Blvd. that was occupied by an off-duty Lawton police officer. After Williams left the scene, the off-duty officer started a pursuit with him.
Williams was driving at high speeds, according to police, and did not come to a stop at a number of stop signs.
Williams surrendered in his driveway at 810 SW Monroe Ave. That is where police held him and the passenger of the vehicle at gunpoint.
Williams was booked into the Lawton City Jail and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, eluding police and driving with an expired registration.
