McClain County dispatch affected by vandalism

DIBBLE, Okla. (AP) _ Workers are repairing McClain County's emergency communication equipment after someone vandalized a station near Dibble.

McClain County deputies say someone cut a fence at the emergency communication station and damaged the equipment inside. The damage left parts of McClain County without any emergency communications for several hours Monday.

Oklahoma City television station KOCO reports ( ) that the Washington, Dibble and Payne fire departments were all affected.

The service is expected to be fully operational Tuesday.

McClain County Sheriff's Office Lt. Billy Scott says the thieves were likely looking for copper but put an entire community at risk with their actions.
