Update to Melrose Coach investigation

New developments surrounding the Melrose Volleyball coach accused of having sexual relations with a student.

Officials in Curry County say 28 year old Allison Draper has bonded out after being arrested, Tuesday. Coach Draper is one of two of Melrose school coaches in the center of allegations saying they had unlawful relationships with students.

The male coach has yet to be identified by officials, but he resigned in February for what the Superintendent says was an inappropriate texting relationship with a student.

The Curry County Sheriff's Office says Draper was arrested on Tuesday for one count of criminal sexual penetration of a minor and five counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor.

The alleged victim is a 15 year old girl, according to the Superintendent who also says Draper and the victim knew each other before they met at school.

The Superintendent also tells us Draper resigned in December for personal reasons.
