UPDATE: Woman doing well after throat being cut

LAWTON, Okla._Police were initially called to a domestic with injury which turned into woman with a rather large cut to her throat.

Original Story: Woman's throat cut after an argument

New details are emerging in the story about an argument turned throat cutting as police continue to investigate the ordeal. The female victim told officers that the attacker, Elliot Gaines, cut her throat and then attempted to run her over. The fight and attack started inside her home, after which she ran to a neighbor for refuge as Gaines continued to chase after her. The neighbor responded to her pleas for help and gave her refuge and also guarded the door with a shotgun.

At that point Gaines noticed that the neighbor had the shotgun and quickly stopped before reversing and driving off, hitting multiple vehicles before getting out of the car and running off.

The victim is doing well and her injury was considered not life threatening. Police continue to search for Gaines.

    An Oklahoma deputy is being credited with saving the life of an injured driver on March 26. Deputy Carey Duniphin was the first deputy to arrive on the scene and ran to the burning car where the driver was reported as being trapped. Deputy Duniphin found the man on his hands and knees outside of the vehicle. The driver, Alex Rangel, had blood coming from his mouth and likely suffered a broken jaw.
