LAWTON, Okla._The lack of significant rain in Lawton has forced the city to declare a stage two water emergency.
That means a mandatory restriction on outside watering, using the odd-even system. Residents can water every other day, but only between the hours of midnight and 9:00 a.m. The city's water policy triggers a stage two emergency when the combined water capacity of lakes Lawtonka, Ellsworth, and Waurika is at 60 percent, or less.
The restrictions will stay in place until the lakes levels rise.
