Cloud seeding begins in Wichita Falls

Posted: Updated:

Wichita Falls, TX- The City of Wichita Falls has officially begun its cloud seeding operation.

They fired the first three flares on Wednesday in both Wichita and Wilbarger Counties.

The first run was not a resounding success, however the men running the operation said the conditions were not ideal for creating rain and they are still hopeful. The skies are being monitored 24-7 in order to take advantage of any clouds to seed in Texoma.

The operation will continue until the end of June, then pick back up in September.
