Posted: Updated:

ALTUS, Okla._ A carjacking here Tuesday afternoon ended with the stolen car wrapped around a tree.

A woman told police she was ripped from her vehicle in Altus, and the man, later identified as Tryvieon Patterson, 21, drove away at high speeds.

Police in Olustee later arrested Patterson after finding him under a bridge after he allegedly wrecked the stolen car.

Patterson was originally convicted in Oklahoma County on several felony charges; including, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, several burglary complaints and concealing stolen property.

Altus Police Department is still investigating the carjacking as well as a nearby burglary incident, which they have not yet ruled Patterson out as a suspect.

Patterson is awaiting formal charges to be filed against him by the district attorney's office in Jackson County.
