It happened just after 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning on State Highway 19, about seven miles west of Apache.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said that 19-year-old man Dexter Palmer and 18-year-old Kelsey Palmer were traveling west bound on the highway when their car crossed the center line and hit a retaining wall, catching on fire.

Both the driver and passenger were pinned inside the vehicle for close to three hours. They both died at the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
