One man taken to hospital after alleged assault

LAWTON, Okla._An argument took a dangerous turn that ended with one person going to the hospital. 

It happened Sunday at northwest 40th Street and Gore Boulevard. Police said after an argument seemed to be breaking up, two males and one female drove away but they were stopped when the two other males from the argument swerved in front of their vehicle. One of the males got out of the car went to the other group's car and began hitting a man in the face. A second man in the car tried to stop the attack when he was hit and knocked unconscious.

According to the police report, the attacker's counterpart then pulled out a gun and told the victims to leave. One shot was fired out of their vehicle as they drove off.

One person was transported to the hospital after the attack; he is expected to make a full recovery.
