Suspect revealed in shooting

LAWTON, Okla._ Lawton Police have released the identity of the man who opened fire in a central Lawton neighborhood wounding one man, after an argument turned violent.

Police said 31-year-old Loyd Martinez was walking near NW 3rd Street and Bell Avenue around 12 p.m. Friday when an argument erupted between him and the 26-year-old victim, Russell Roundtree. 

The situation quickly escalated when Martinez pulled out a gun firing shots at three people standing in the front yard of the victim's home.

Roundtree was hit once in the stomach, but was treated and released from a Lawton hospital. 
 
Martinez is currently being held in Lawton City Jail on charges of reckless conduct with a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill.

    A man is behind bars after an Oklahoma woman says she was nearly run over when the man dumped two dogs off at an animal rescue. She says the man drove to the animal rescue near Prague and left the two dogs behind, but almost ran over the dogs backing out.  When she tried to get the dogs out of the way, he slammed into her. She held on to the hood for almost a mile to avoid slipping under the vehicle.
