Hearing set in Okla. execution drug case

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A judge is set to hear arguments from attorneys for two death row inmates over the constitutionality of a state law barring Oklahoma from disclosing information about the drugs it uses in executions.

The hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Oklahoma County District Court.

Current law prevents anyone from disclosing who provides the state with the drugs it uses in executions.

Lawyers for death-row inmates Charles Warner and Clayton Lockett say the men could suffer severe pain if Oklahoma doesn't reveal which drugs it will use in their executions.

Lockett is to be executed for the 1999 shooting death of a 19-year-old Perry woman. Warner faces execution for the 1997 death of his girlfriend's 11-month-old daughter.
