Interactive learning bring students and families together

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._Students at Woodland Hill Elementary have been learning all about rockets, roller coasters and towers as a part of STEM.

On Tuesday night their families got a chance to check out their efforts dedicated to science, technology, engineering and math. It's the STEM initiative everyone has been hearing so much about. Teachers said the event brought students and their families together for interactive learning.

"It incorporates not only our students, but their families as well, so we incorporate it daily but we also get their families involved in their education," said teacher Megan Veldhuizen.

The STEM day was made possible by a $3,000 grant awarded to the school from the K20 Center.
