Explosives found in the stolen truck of AEP burglars

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._ New information from Lawton Police on what was found inside the stolen truck discovered outside American Electric Power Company's Warehouse following Friday morning's attempted burglary.

Lawton Police said a search of the vehicle revealed 2 homemade explosive devices and 8 firecrackers.

Images captured by AEP's surveillance video show the two suspects on the property around 3:30 a.m. Friday. The thieves cut a hole in the chain link fence at American Electric Power near B Avenue and east Gore Boulevard.

They tried to load copper into the stolen pickup truck, but before they could get away the business's new security system foiled their plans, alerted police, and captured images of their faces.

If you recognize either of these men, police encourage you to contact Crime Stoppers at 355-INFO.
