Posted: Updated:
UPDATE: A semi-truck crashes into a local McDonald's last night putting several people into the hospital.

The crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. last night.

The Amarillo Police Department say a semi-truck hauling hay was traveling south on Pierce when it struck a white Honda traveling on Amarillo Boulevard.

After striking the Honda, the semi-truck reportedly veered into the McDonald's parking lot, hit another vehicle, and pushed it through the wall into the west side of the building.

The second car was a Ford Explorer.

At about 3 a.m., the semi was pulled from the building, the Explorer was taken out about about 4 a.m.

There are a total of seven people who were injured and sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The ones sent to the hospital were the five people in the Honda, the semi-truck driver, and the driver of the Ford Explorer.

Right now, crews are working on cleaning up the damages. The whole restaurant is fenced off during this clean up.
