UPDATE: Man dead following west Lawton shooting

Lawton- Lawton police tell us they're investigating a deadly shooting Friday morning on the city's west side.

Officers were called to 78th and Northwest Welco Ave. around 2:30 a.m. That's just a block off 82nd and Rogers Lane. Dispatchers told police a man was reportedly shot in the stomach and not breathing. LPD says 37-year-old Timothy Hill was shot at least once and died at the scene.

Investigators say it appears Hill had just gotten home and parked his car. When he got out, they believe a person or persons fired shots that hit him, his car and the home. LPD says there is no suspect information to put out right now.

This is being classified as the city's seventh homicide of the year.

We'll keep monitoring this developing story and will bring you updates as new details come in.
